Southampton Show wins first title sponsor

Hampshire firm come in for next year's event

National Boat Shows have unveiled a title sponsor for the Southampton Boat Show next year.

From 2008, Hampshire company Premier Shipping & Packing Limited (PSP) will become the first-ever title sponsor of the event. Next year will be the show’s 40th year.

The three-year contract was agreed this week between NBS Managing Director Andrew Williams and PSP Managing Director Frank Dixie. The agreement will see the show become known as the PSP Southampton Boat Show.

PSP was established in 1998 and has grown into one of the country’s leading logistics companies. It specialises in boat transportation, marine spares and international express couriers. Along with its head office in Hampshire, PSP also has offices in London, Northamptonshire, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong, as well a dedicated network of agents worldwide.

Managing Director Frank Dixie says: “The Southampton Boat Show is an exceptional event and the perfect place for the marine industry to showcase its products and services. We have enjoyed some fantastic Shows in the past and now are proud to be forging even closer links with NBS, the BMF and the marine industry through this opportunity.”

NBS Managing Director, Andrew Williams, said: “This news couldn’t come at a more exciting time in advance of our 40th Show next year. Visitors and exhibitors alike ensured a fantastic show this year and were proud to host the headline-grabbing launch of the TEAMORIGIN crew that will bid for the 33rd America’s Cup. We are confident that this partnership with PSP can only help take the Southampton Boat Show from strength to strength.”
