Southsea Marina to host first ever fishing show this Easter

Good Friday will see the launch of the inaugural Southsea Marina Fishing Show, with a range of new and used boats, and exhibits from the RNLI and Landau UK

Premier Marinas is launching a new event this Easter in the form of the Southsea Marina Fishing Show, which is due to take place on April 3.

The free one-day event will run from 10:00-16:00 and feature a wide range of stands selling everything from bait and tackle to vintage clothing.

Boatowners attending the show can get a free lifejacket check from the RNLI, or learn about the latest Garmin and Simrad products from Landau UK.

Meanwhile boat brokers Hamble Boat & RIB Centre, Sea Ventures and Golden Arrow will be bringing a range of new and used fishing boats. These will include the likes of Orkney, Barracuda and Jeanneau.

Engineering and chandlery firm 1 Degree West will be showcasing the latest Yanmar products, Side Power thrusters and yacht generators.

And Southsea Marina Angling Club will be on hand to suggest the best locations and methods for fishing in the East Solent area.

Of course, no fishing show would be complete without trying a little seafood. So local restaurant Loch Fyne will be serving up some savoury treats as well as dishing out free cookery tips.

Rupert Bremner, manager of Southsea Marina, said: “The show will not only be of interest to the growing and active fishing community, but there will be something of interest to all kinds of boaters. It is my hope that this will become an annual event in the calendar.”

Entry to the Southsea Marina Fishing Show is free of charge. Free parking will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Part of the Premier Marinas network, Southsea Marina has 330 berths measuring up to 18m (59ft) long.
