Spain’s Alvaro de Marichalar, who last month successfully made the first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean on a personal watercraft, riding a Bombardier Sea-Doo XP watercraft, is on the second leg of his journey after arriving in Miami on June 22, four months after leaving Spain. The adventurer is now making his way from Miami to New York City, due to arrive at Ellis Island on July 17.

Although this 1600-mile journey to New York City is not an everyday cruise, the trip along the Eastern United States’ coastline is, “easy” says Mr de Marichalar, compared to the unpredictable Atlantic Ocean. He will be making stops at eight locations during the nine day trip. He will meet with various groups at each stop promoting his causes of anti-drug awareness and safe and responsible boating with the support of Bombardier.
