VIDEO: Overblue 44 review

Nick Burnham heads off to Slovenia to test the Overblue 44. Is it anything more than just a floating apartment?

All we hear these days is how customers want as much living space on their boats as possible and the Overblue 44 is the ultimate representation of that.

It’s no beauty, it has to be said, but if you want a home from home you can’t get much closer.

By using two totally flat decks pushed right out to beam of the boat, Overblue has maximised the amount of room on board to deliver a true home on the water.

The top deck has the space of a 60 or maybe 70ft boat and proves an excellent alfresco dining space.

Though it may look like a houseboat it actually uses two slender hulls to make it, technically, a catamaran.

There are various engine options but the twin 150hp motors on our test boat delivered a top speed of 14 knots and comfortable cruise between 10-12 knots.

It’s certainly one to split opinion, watch the video and read our full report in the July 2016 issue of the magazine to make up your mind.
