MCY 86 flagship to launch at Cannes

The flagship of the Monte Carlo Yachts range - the MCY 86 - will debut at Cannes

The new flagship of the Monte Carlo Yachts range – the MCY 86 – will make its world debut at the Cannes Boat Show in September.

The 86 is looking to build on the success of the yard’s other three models, the 65, 70 and 76 as it nudges its way towards the superyacht sector.

As such there are new features which indicate that MCY has the upper echelons of the market in sight like the folding balconies on either side of the forward part of the saloon and the level of customisation that is available to buyers.

To this end there is plenty of scope for variation in the cabin layouts where owners can choose between a three, four or five cabin design depending on their individual needs.

The big boat design cues continue on deck where the traditional MCY covered sidedecks reappear as does the Portuguese bridge and foredeck seating area plus the carbon fibre T-top with soft opening sunroof.

There is the option to fit a jacuzzi on the top deck, adding to the comprehensive wet-bar and seating/lounging areas already up there.

MCY makes a point of stressing how carefully it has chosen the materials and fabrics on board to feel as special as possible, including cedar stone marble, mocha cream limestone and Venetian mosaics handmade from in Murano glass – it’s high end stuff.

Twin MAN 1,800hp engines should see the 86 to a top speed of 29 knots whilst ensuring she is happy to burble along at displacement speeds too.

At the time of writing no prices were avilable.
