Earl of Wessex launches Scottish Trad Boat Fest

Biggest maritime event in Scotland this year

The Earl of Wessex is set to open the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival today in the largest maritime event taking place in Scotland this year.

The Earl, accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire, will review the arrival of the fleet of vessels taking part in the Moray Firth Flotilla, as they sail into Portsoy Harbour, Banff.

The review marks the launch of the 14th festival, which runs until Sunday.

Each day features bands playing and other activities aimed at keeping all members of the family entertained. Saturday finishes with a fireworks display at 11pm.
