VIDEO: Used Boat – Azimut 39

If you're looking for a used 40ft flybridge that is a little bit different then Nick Burnham may have found one in the Azimut 39

Built between 1997 and 2008 the Azimut 39 added some real style and pizazz into the market sector.

During its lifespan, Azimut sold over 300 units and now they are available on the secondhand market for as little as £90,000. For that you get a twin cabin layout below decks with a spacious master cabin forward and generous ensuite plus a twin cabin that has access to the day heads for guests to use in the evening.

The galley is on the same level as the cabins and boasts a full-size fridge/freezer, though it isn’t exactly swimming with storage. Step up into the saloon and you find a raised double helm and a sociable dinette that converts to create another double berth.

The interior is beautifully finished with soft leather seating, highly lacquered woodwork and top notch attention to detail.

The flybridge is dominated by a large aft sunpad with a semi-circle of seating adjacent to the single helm seat that’s more suited to drinks than catering for full-blown meals.

Though it’s a striking exterior design it’s not a tale of form overriding function. The side decks are wide and well protected by tall guardrails and the forward locker is more than big enough to swallow a few fenders. Having boarding gates either side of the transom means you have easy access no matter which side you’re moored, too.

Engine options came from CAT, either 32hp or 355hp, with a rare Cummins option, the larger CATs powering the 39 to 30 knots on the nose.
