With the promise of some fair-weather cruising, the cut in VAT to 15% and the loss of good brokerage boats to overseas buyers, now could be the best time in years to buy new.

– Sealine has slashed big money off the price of a number of boats, including an SC47, T60 and SC38. You can see details of all the deals on Sealine’s website .

– Absolute dealer Ocean Nautic is offering a top spec Absolute 39 for £238,500. That price includes pre-delivery inspection, commissioning and delivery. The boat was used as a display boat and has never touched the water.

– Mustang dealer Wittey Marine has a couple of cracking deals on 2007 Mustang models, including a Mustang 3000 and Mustang 4200 Sports Cruiser. Check them both out on Wittey Marine’s website .
– There’s a Viking Marin 285 up for grabs through Royal Blue Marine in Wales. The boat is on sale for £175,000, a discount of around £50,000.
– At the sporty end of the scale, Pursuit Boats UK has a number of models available at discount prices, including an Offshore 285 for £129,000, and an Offshore 385 for £183,250. That’s a discount of 20% and 16.5% respectively.
– Well-known boat dealer Gibbs has a new Regal 2565 up for grabs for £67,216, which is £10,000 off the list price. For more, visit Gibbs’ website .
