Glam quartet Escala sure to turn heads
Glamorous quartet Escala from Britain’s Got Talent will perform at the PSP Southampton Boat Show, at the official launch of the new Sunseeker Predator 130 yacht.
Escale will play ‘a number of high-octane contemporary classical tracks from their self-titled debut album’ on Friday 11 September at 11.30am.
They will join Sunseeker CEO Robert Braithwaite CBE and powerboat enthusiasts Geoff Tobert and Ray Bullman, MBY’s powerboating correspondent, who will cut a ribbon to officially launch the high performance motoryacht Predator 130, already acclaimed as ‘star-of-the-show’.
Escala are violinists Victoria Lyon, 25, and Izzy Johnston, 25, Chantal Leverton, a viola player, 26, and cellist Tasya Hodges, 26, who are professionally trained musicians from London’s top music colleges.
“They play both acoustic and electric instruments and their distinctive interpretations of well-known musical hits and stylish performances have secured them a reputation as serious but fun performers.
“Their passion for classical music has been credited for challenging stereotypes and igniting a newfound enthusiasm for the genre.”
Geoff Tobert, 80, and Ray Bullman, 79, recently completed a 230 mile return journey across the English Channel from Putney in Chelsea Harbour to Calais in a fully-restored Hostess 17, one of the very first models built by Sunseeker over 40 years ago. The trip was featured in MBY September.
Sunseeker CEO Robert Braithwaite CBE said: “We are eagerly awaiting the launch of the outstanding Predator 130 and with Escala joining us at the show, the launch is sure to turn heads for several reasons!
“Sunseeker will be launching four new motoryachts at the show including the 80 Yacht, Predator 60 and Predator 54, while a further 14 craft will be displayed at the show, ranging from 52 feet to 130 feet, on stand J006, Berths 401-405.”
