Can synthetic decks be as good as real teak? Editor Hugo Andreae shows us how Flexiteek gave his Karnic 2250 a make-over
Teak decks are one of the most sought-after features for boat buyers, but could synthetic decks provide a more practical alternative?
Cheaper to fit and easier to maintain, products such as Flexiteek have gained in popularity over the past few years.
In this video, MBY editor Hugo Andreae invites us onto his Karnic 2250, which is in need of a bit of a makeover, to see the process of fitting synthetic decks.
The Flexiteek team talk us through all the different features, from shading and borders to cut-outs that fit around the key deck furniture.
Finally, we take a look around the finished product, which Hugo reports is much cooler underfoot than real teak decks.
