If you genuinely want to compare a lot of boats back-to-back then no other show makes it more convenient than the Düsseldorf Boat Show. It’s one of the biggest – if not the biggest – indoor show in the world and it has everything from kayaks to superyachts.
The show is brilliantly run and easy to get to – you even get free public transport around the city with your show ticket.
It’s a big show to get around so it’s best to allow two full days to take it all in and ensure you don’t have to rush your lunch of Bratwurst and Altbier in the charming outdoor food market at the show’s centre.
How to get to the Düsseldorf Boat Show
There are plentiful low-cost flights into Düsseldorf airport from all over the UK. From there it’s a 10-minute taxi or 20 minutes on the bus to the Messe Centre for the Düsseldorf Boat Show.
There’s a good selection of hotels near the Messe Centre itself or in the town centre near the Altestadt (old town), which is well worth visiting of an evening for a bratwurst and a lager (or two, or three).
Düsseldorf Boat Show 2022 entry requirements
On Thursday 25 November, the organisers announced that new measures would be brought in to stem the spread of COVID-19 at the 2022 Düsseldorf Boat Show.
Showgoers will need to show proof that they have either been vaccinated with the Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna or Janssen jab, or recovered from a COVID-19 infection in the past 6 months in order to enter the Messe Centre. Children under 15 are exempt from these restrictions.
Despite reports that Germany might be heading for another national lockdown, the organisers have said that “all signs are pointing to a safe staging of Boot 2022”.
